Shattering glass! Backyard FX's DIY sugar glass

Erik tells us how to get that broken glass effect without a trip to the hospital (BUT you've still got to be careful!). All you need is cooking spray, corn syrup, sugar, a pot, a pan, cream of tartar, and a thermometer.

maybe use a low water content spray so the sugar doesn't bubble an mix with the oil.
I'm no expert but maybe a silicon spray.

i had a rectangular cookie sheet yet the glass turned out sort of spherical. it was round and ballish... what did i do wrong?
