their all heavyweights so of course they can generate a lot of power behind a kick or a punch as opposed to the muay thai dude in the other fight science. Randy has never knocked anyone out cold so why is he punching the dummy? Bas doesnt fight anymore, and tito is in limbo, i dont even know who the other guy is. all their "findings" are only relevant to heavyweights, which means this little experiment requires another go-round.

would be greatly appreciated. I'm also considering taking a second stlye and the only styles they teach locally are Karate, hapkido, judo and ju-jitsu. I was wondering which style I should take in conjunction with tae(considering ju-jit-su the most) if I eventually want to do local MMA. Any advice from experienced fighters would be appreciated.

Jiu Jitsu first definitely.
Its harder to learn then muay thai and other stand up fighting styles.
Look at anderson Silva who learnt jiu jitsu first and then practised striking.
thats just an example.
good luck!

start off with grapplin arts to build your strength, after that try karate becuz that is a very common art in mma, preferably try shotokan karate becuz ther are alot of powerful strikes in that style

I've been trying to condition my knuckles, knees, shins, elbows and feet by striking cement and wood so that they will calcify but I bruise a lot and they will stay sore for days. This also affects my weight lifting giving me striking pain when I try to lift heavy weight. I took tae-kwon-do years ago and I want to get back into it to finish and get my black belt. I know you have to break a brick and I haven't yet been able to do that. If somebody has advice on safe and proper conditioning it

for your knuckles.
Open a news paper in the middle page.
Stick it to a wall
And do 100 karate type straight punches a day.
Not to hard, not hurting your hands.
Every 2 days take 1 page off the wall.
When all the pages are gone you can hit the wall as hard as you want.
Good luck

Thanks, that sounds like a really great Idea, I will try it. A lot of other people have told me ju jitsu is the way to go too.
